World Expo大阪で「Wave Japan」発足式典に参加しました。

2025年10月9日、大阪・関西万博のオランダパビリオン及びインドネシアパビリオンにて、渡利准教授、GD5 ラマ、GD4 原田、GD2 樺澤、M1 加藤が参加し、「Wave Japan」が正式に発足しました。

Wave Japanは、オランダ発の国際ネットワークWavemakers Unitedの日本支部として、国際水協会（IWA）日本ナショナル委員会傘下のJapan National Young Water Professionals（Japan YWP）のもとに設立されました。

式典では、Wavemakers United（オランダ）、Japan YWP、Wave Indonesiaによる覚書（MoU）署名式がインドネシア館で行われ、その後オランダ館にて象徴的なボードの引き継ぎセレモニーが実施されました。この日、日本・オランダ・インドネシアの若手水専門家たちが新たな国際連携の「波」を起こしました。

Wave Japanは、国内の大学、学校、企業、若者団体をつなぎ、水・食・エネルギー分野における教育とイノベーションを推進します。

若者を「Water Ambassador」として育成し、世界中の子どもたち100万人に水教育を届ける「World Water Action Agenda」にも貢献していきます。

パートナーには京都大学、長岡技術科学大学などが参画しており、今後さらに連携の輪が広がる予定です。

Wave Japanは、日本から世界へ、水の未来を変えるうねりを広げていきます。

Wave Japan Officially Launched at World Expo Osaka!　

 

On October 9, 2025, at the World Expo in Osaka, Associate Professor Watari, GD5 Rama, GD4 Harada, GD2 Kabasawa, and M1 Kato joined the official launch of Wave Japan — the newest local chapter of Wavemakers United, established under the Japan National Young Water Professionals (Japan YWP) of the International Water Association (IWA) Japan National Committee.

The event featured a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing between Wavemakers United (Netherlands), Japan YWP, and Wave Indonesia at the Indonesian Pavilion, followed by a symbolic handover ceremony at the Netherlands Pavilion, marking the start of a new wave of collaboration.

Wave Japan connects universities, schools, companies, and youth organizations nationwide to advance education and innovation in the fields of water, food, and energy.

The initiative empowers young people to become Water Ambassadors, contributing to the World Water Action Agenda, an international mission to deliver water education to one million children.

With partners such as Kyoto University and Nagaoka University of Technology, and more to come, Wave Japan continues to build momentum—spreading a powerful wave of innovation and youth-driven action from Japan to the world.
